Introduction to the National Integrity Framework

Deaf Sport Australia (DSA) is committed to ensuring a fair and safe sport and community environment for the participation of deaf and hard of hearing Australian’s. DSA has been working with Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) as well as the Australian Sporting Alliance for People with Disabilities (ASAPD) to manage the adoption of National Integrity Framework (NIF).

We have created summaries of each policy in Auslan for easy reference. Please see below.

In adopting the NIF, DSA ensures that the following principles are followed by all who are involved with the Framework policies.

These principles are:

*The following is the definition of people at risk:

  • Persons under the age of 18; or
  • Persons aged 18 or over, but are unable to take care of themselves, or are unable to protect themselves against harm or exploitation, by reason of age, illness, trauma or disability, or any other reason.

Play by the Rules.

Play by the Rule” website provides free online courses on how to make sport participation fair and safe. These courses are available for everyone involved in sport such as coaches, administrators, officials, players, parents, and spectators.

Courses include child safeguarding and protection, Harassment & Discrimination, Member Protection, Inclusive Coaching, etc.

All videos have closed captions (CC) and Deaf Sports Australia is working with the Play by the Rules team to include Auslan translation of key online modules.
