Introduction to the National Integrity Framework
Deaf Sport Australia (DSA) is committed to ensuring a fair and safe sport and community environment for the participation of deaf and hard of hearing Australian’s. DSA has been working with Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) as well as the Australian Sporting Alliance for People with Disabilities (ASAPD) to manage the adoption of National Integrity Framework (NIF).
Here is how the integrity policies help keep you safe in sport.

In adopting the NIF, DSA ensures that the following principles are followed by all who are involved with the Framework policies.
These principles are:
*The following is the definition of people at risk:
- Persons under the age of 18; or
- Persons aged 18 or over, but are unable to take care of themselves, or are unable to protect themselves against harm or exploitation, by reason of age, illness, trauma or disability, or any other reason.

Improper Use of Drugs and Medicine (Anti-Doping) Policy – November 2023
Deaf Sports Australia’s anti-doping policy is also the Australian National Anti-Doping Policy, effective 1 January 2021, and can be found on the Sport Integrity Australia website.

Member protection Officer (MPO)
Each sport organisation usually has a Member protection Officer (MPO) who looks after any complaints made by members, sport participants and others involved in deaf sport programs.
At DSA, the General Manager is also the MPO. If you have a complaint or want to learn more about the MPO role, please contact the General Manager.
