A netballer from VIC who inspires Deaf kids to confidently pursue their sporting passions. Rayan recalls, “my sports teacher asked if I wanted to play netball, so I came along, learned the basic skills, and it just grew from there.” She has since represented at the Australian Deaf Games, winning gold medals in both women’s and mixed netball, and earning MVP. Reflecting on challenges, Rayan explains, “there were definitely a lot of communication barriers back then… it was very confusing.” But she encourages others: “if you really love sport, focus on what you love. Work out ways around the barriers, rely on your family, your coach, someone that supports you, and keep going.”
