Deaf Community & Sports South Australia

Deaf Community & Sports South Australia Inc. (DCSSA) provides support and engages Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and adults to participate in community, sport and recreation activities for healthy lifestyles and personal development.

DCSSA has several sports that formally exist as committees under its auspices. These include cricket, 8-ball, lawn bowls, darts, beach volleyball, etc.

Additionally, DCSSA have fielded sport teams at every Australian Deaf Games and Deaf Carnivals since they began. Deaf community meetings are held at their club house in Modbury.

DCSSA also supports individual athletes competing in sports such as athletics, swimming, table tennis, tennis, ten pin bowling and more.

They are a member of Deaf Sports Australia and often support the delivery of their programs such as Active Deaf Kids’ workshops in schools in South Australia.
